The mission of research administration at the McCormick School of Engineering and Applied Science is to support excellence and growth in research and promote compliance and efficiency in the management of sponsored funding.

News

  • McCormick has submitted $303 million in proposals as of April 2009.  This already surpasses the $230 million submitted in all of fiscal year 2008.  With four months (May, June, July, August) left to count in the fiscal year, McCormick is on track for an unprecedented year in research activity.
  • Krista Galvin and Elizabeth Adams are members of the Steering Committee of a newly formed organization, Northwestern University Research Administration Professionals (NURAP).
  • Krista Galvin co-presented at an OSR-Evanston brown bag entitled "An Overview of NSF Proposals" in April 2009.
  • Elizabeth Adams and Deb Cundiff presented "An Innovative Model of Research Administration in the McCormick School of Engineering & Applied Science" at the Northwestern University Best Practices Forum in March, 2009
  • Krista Galvin and Susan Morris have been nominated for Service Excellence Awards in fiscal year 2009.
